How to Have A Chill Out Evening

Hey, so although for most people spend Friday nights partying and staying up all night but I like to have a chill out evening relaxing and getting plenty of sleep, so here is a few tips for your relaxation:

-Have a bath to start your relaxation process, to make it better you can add some bath salts or a bubble bar or a bath bomb, we all know that the best ones come from lush, also they smell amazing and have specific thinks that help you in specific way.

-Use a facemask, not only is this really fun (although it can get quite messy) but I is quite relaxing and it can be really good for your skin and there is nothing better than having great skin right? Whether from a packet or a bottle, they are all great.

-Another great way to relax and feel a bit better is to lie down on the sofa with a blanket watching a feel good movie or a chick flick to make you laugh and maybe even cry a little.

-Drink a hot chocolate, this is not only a great way to warm you up inside especially in the winter, and I always find that it helps me feel a lot more at home.

-After all the relaxation methods, it would be really good to read a few chapter and try to get a good night sleep, this will leave you so relaxed for Saturday and will help you be well rested to be a little happier to get up on Monday morning.

I hope you enjoyed my tips for a chill out evening , if you know of any other ideas that people could use then please feel free to leave them in the comments below, come back tomorrow for another post. That’s all for now,

What I'm Currently Listening to

Hey, so currently there is a lot of music available on the internet so I thought that I would share with you my current favourite music and what I’m currently listening to:

-First of as usual one of my favourite artists is Taylor Swift and although I have been loving here new album for all the time it’s been available, I particularly love the album red especially the song red.

-Another current favourite is Shawn Mendes, I love his songs and you can tell that he actual means the lyrics and it’s probably because he wrote the songs himself. I love all his album handwritten and I have literally sat for ours listening to it.

-Finally, another of my favourites is bastille, my favourite song is Pompeii, I also love their album all this bad blood, I think that there sound is really different to all the pop bands that most people like and I know that sounds cheesy but that is why I like them.

I hope you enjoyed my what I’m currently listening to, if you know of any other ideas that people could use then please feel free to leave them in the comments below, come back next Friday for another post. That’s all for now,

My Room Decoration Ideas

Hey, so with Christmas over we have had to take all our Christmas decorations so I don’t know about you but my room looks a bit empty these days so here is a list of things that you can use to make your room a bit fuller:

-Despite fairy lights being slightly Christmassy but I really think that fairy lights are a great touch to a room all year especially lots of strings of lights at night and it’s always a great to have shapes on the lights to go with your room.

-Framed Pictures are a great way to remember great times to keep you happy, you can either can have one in each frame or you can have multiple in one frame with some decorative pieces to go with the memory, I always think that they are great to look back on when you’re not in the best mood.

-So we all know that I have a slight obsession but a group of candles, scented or unscented can really pull areas of a room together, I always find that if they are arranged in a group, whether in a lantern or not, they will look better than just one on its own, another tip is that bare candles can look better than ones is glass jars.

-Something practical you can add is a clock, this may sound boring but you can get some cool, vintage or unusually shaped ones, they can be quite expensive if you want a certain type, but if you’re willing to pay you can get a clock that fits perfectly with the design of the room.

-So something else that could make you feel a little happier is some of your favourite quotes framed on your wall, possible near some of your photos, this means that you can have something inspiring that means something special to you and that relates to you.

-Fake or real flowers can really make a room feel brighter and if the flowers are fake then you can put fairy lights in them, something else to make note of is flowers look best on a white background but make sure that your vase for your flowers matches the surrounding area.

-Be sure to ensure maximum comfort by layering every part of your room in cushions and pillows in all different colours, patterns, shapes, sizes, designs and materials, for a great range of not too expensive cushions I like to go to tkmaxx.

-Photo Scrapbooks are another great way to store memories which you look back at with your friend’s years later, you can add to them and even have a bookcase full of photo scrapbooks, and this can really make your home more personal, you can also get some great designs of scrapbooks.

I hope you enjoyed my room decoration ideas, if you know of any other ideas that people could use then please feel free to leave them in the comments below, come back tomorrow for another post. That’s all for now,

My Favourite Candles

Hey, so for this winter keep warm and make your room smell great both at the same time, I love candles as much as most people and sometimes I even get a bit obsessive, so I’m so happy to be talking about my 5 favourite candles:

-Lake Sunset by Yankee Candle, this is a fresh light scent and is definitely my favourite candle of these as it is a scent that would work well in all rooms and is a really florally scent. This candle is quite easy to get hold of and is quite cheap.

-Winter by the white company, I know that this is more of a Christmas candle but I think that it could work for the rest of winter. This candle is reasonably easy to get hold of however very heavy and slightly more expensive.

-White jasmine and mint home candle by Jo Malone, this is a light floral and fresh scented candle which works perfectly in the kitchen and it really reminds me of spring, this is beautifully packaged however thee can also be a little expensive.

-Black cherry by Yankee Candle, this is quite a heavy sour scent but is probably the most amazing smell in the world, be careful though, I couldn’t smell this forever. This a candle reasonably easy to get hold of and quite cheap.

-Grapefruit and Jasmin aromatherapy candle by Parks London, this is a very sweet candle which can be quite fruity and lightly floral, and it is another spring smelling candle. This candle is a mid-range price but a little harder to get hold of, I got mine at TKmaxx.

I hope you enjoyed my winter outfit tips, if you know of any other ideas that people could use then please feel free to leave them in the comments below, come back tomorrow for another post. That’s all for now,

Carry-On Travel Essentials

Hey, so recently I went on a weekend away recently and I thought that I would share you my carry-on travel essentials with you, obviously they are not all essential but flights are not the most comfortable places in the world and these are some things that could make it a bit better:

-Firstly I always find that a neck pillow helps a lot and it makes the flight a lot more comfortable in general, I also find they don’t take up as much space as you would expect and they are really worth it.

-Although flights do offer snacks, I always find that taking my own helps me feel a little more comfortable and at home making flights less awkward and also there is nothing wrong with a tasty treat.

-Another thing to help you relax is a face mask and it is also really good for your skin and although you may look a bit crazy it is also really quite fun however I suggest you use on of the easily peel-able ones and the less messy ones for convenience.

-Aeroplane flights are always really drying so it can be really useful to have a good moisturising hand cream to help keep your skin from getting dry you can either have just a hand cream as I find it affects your hands the most or have a full body moisturiser instead or have both.

-Something else that gets really dry are your lips so I can’t live on a flight, even a short one, without a good lip balm because there is nothing worse than a having dry lips and not being able to do anything about it.

-I always try and remember to wear comfortable shoes on flight to make me feel less on edge and more comfortable, I always find that the more comfortable you are on the flight, the easier it will be to handle the flight as a whole.

-If you’re going to go to sleep on a flight then an eye mask can be really helpful to block out the outside light, it is important to be able to sleep on flights to help prevent jet lag and to help keep you energised for you weekend away.

-Something else to help block out all the other noise are sound proof headphones, these are probably the most useful things that I have bought however they can be quite expensive so normal headphones or even earphones would be fine.

-It is also important to have toothpaste and a toothbrush on a longer flight to help you keep fresh and help your mouth feel fresh before you got to sleep because it could help you feel more at home and it could help you get to sleep a little easier.

-A good book is always useful to read during the flight or take off to help you zone out to distract yourself from everything around you and can also be a great distraction during mild turbulence.

-Last but not least is something that plays music to help block out the sound of other people talking or fidgeting, I always find this really annoying so I find it essential to block out the background noises but remember to have a large range of music on the device so that you won’t run out or have to listen to the same music over and over again which would get very boring.

I hope you enjoyed my carry-on travel essentials, if you know of any other ideas that people could use then please feel free to leave them in the comments below, come back tomorrow for another post. That’s all for now,

Wardrobe clearing out tips

Hey, so for a new year I think that new starts are important so this week I am clearing out my wardrobe and I thought that I would share with you some tips on how to do that:

-Firstly an important thing to remember is that you should clear out your wardrobe once every few months or the start of the new season to make the task a bit smaller when you do it but it’s still such a fun task and I always feel great after a fresh start.

-Another important thing to remember is that you should always get a friend to help you because then you know that you won’t get rid of something that you should actually keep so you’re picking the perfect clothes for your wardrobe.

-You have to remember that there is no point in keeping clothes that you never wear so I always use the rule only keep it if you have worn it in the last two years or that you know that you are 100% going to wear it very soon.

-Another important rule is that you can’t keep to many similar pieces of the same clothing for example if they are the same colours and same style and same item and same size because in that situation you will have a favourite and end up not wearing any other of those so there is no point of them having them.

-At the end when you have decided which clothes you are going to keep to make it easier when you take clothes out in the morning you should put your clothes back in the most organised way as possible in groups of seasons, colours and items.

I hope you enjoyed my tips on clearing out your wardrobe, if you know of any other ideas that people could use then please feel free to leave them in the comments below, come back tomorrow for another post. That’s all for now,

December Favourites

Hey, so with December over I thought that I would share with you my favourite things in December and I hope that you enjoy them:

-The first thing is the Sweet Cinnamon Pumpkin moisturiser by bath and body works, this moisturiser is by a company in the USA who to my much dismay don’t ship to the UK, not only does it smell amazing but it also absorbs really quickly into the skin which is a must for a moisturiser for me because I hate the greasy feeling when I moisturiser just stays on your skin and you feel all sticky. This is an amazing product and I wish I had had it sooner.

-Another thing that I have been loving is the VO5 heat protect styling spray, this is a heat protection spray for your hair and although it is damaging to your hair, I love to use heat treatments on my hair but it is important to protect your hair and I really feel this does this because it leaves my hair really soft feeling and the bottles last a really long time so you barely ever have to buy more.

-The next thing that I have been loving this month is the Collection Lasting Perfection concealer, this is an amazing concealer and although I know that everyone already says that, that’s because its true, this concealer is amazing and it comes in great shades which is especially helpful or a very pale person like me, if you haven’t tried this yet, try it now, you will not regret it!

-Another thing on the list is the Makeup revolution London flawless matte 32 ultra-eyeshadows palette, I love the natural shades in this palette and they work quite well with most looks and the colours are long lasting and they stay put on the eyes, it is also not the most expensive palette so it is a great palette choice if you are on a budget.

-Also another thing I have been loving are the Clinique chubby sticks, these are basically really easily applied, and they are very moisturising and very pigmented and they last for such a long and don’t smudge a lot and the stick themselves last a really long time, and they have a great range of colours.

-Another thing I have also been loving are the colour couture nail varnishes as they have a good range of colours which don’t easily chip and they have good consistency and the brushes are really easy to apply the colours and they leave a good smooth finish and they dry in a moderate time frame.

-Moreover I have also been loving the Yankee candle Christmas scents as they really do remind me of Christmas and although for Christmas I usually buy the smaller candles they last a really long time and the smells really are very festive and they have a great range of scents that match the Christmas time and I will definitely repurchase them next year.

-Something else I have been loving is reading the book Let it Snow by John Green, Maureen Johnson and Lauren Myracle as it is a very Christmassy book to read and it is a very good book and a good collection of stories, I think that everyone next year at Christmas should definitely read this book.

-Another thing that I have been reading is the book if I stay now I know that this is now a movie and I haven’t actually seen that yet, I know I am really late to the party but this is a great story and now I am desperate to see the movie so in the off chance that some of you haven’t seen it or read it I really suggest that you should.

-Last but definitely not least is Netflix as I am one of those people who will just binge watch TV seasons over and over again and I don’t know what it is but I just love to sit for hours and watch episode after episode, great life decision there but I really find that Netflix is great for that.

I hope you enjoyed my December Favourites, if you know of any other ideas that people could use then please feel free to leave them in the comments below, come back on next Friday for another post. That’s all for now,

Writing your New Year's Resolutions

Hey, so as it is New Year’s Day I thought I would share you my new year’s resolutions and tips on writing your own, this can be quite a boring job but I always try and remember if done properly then it can be quite useful:

So my new year’s resolutions are:

-Try and organise yourself as much as you can and use that organisation not just forget about it

-Try and completely tidy your house at least once a week otherwise all the mess will build up and it will get harder and harder to stay tidy

-Wash your makeup brushes every week to ensure that they don’t get too dirty

My tips are:

-As you can see I set myself a reasonable amount of targets because otherwise there is a really low chance of you completing them all which is the whole point of having them.

-Don’t give yourself too big of a target so that they are achievable, if they are too high then they are probably not going to be achieved.

-Set your targets based on what weaknesses in the last year have caused you the most damage or problems and address these so you know that you are addressing the right things.

-Ask your friends or family members or the people you live with what they think that one of your targets should be so that their life becomes easier as well as yours.

-Write them down somewhere that you will see every day as a reminder to help you to achieve them, this means that you won’t forget them throughout the year.

I hope you enjoyed my tips on writing New Year’s resolutions, if you know of any other ideas that people could use then please feel free to leave them in the comments below, come back on tomorrow for another post. That’s all for now,

Christmas Preparation

Hey, so I am so happy because tomorrow is the most amazing day of the year so before I burst with the excitement, here are my top tips for preparing for Christmas:

-Make sure that you have completely planned the food for the main Christmas dinner at lunch time, the breakfast and any small snacks for dinner.

-Check that you have all your decorations everywhere and ready for guests to admire and to remind you of the Christmas spirit and that your tree is looking perfect.

-It is vital that you have bought all your Christmas presents in advance and that they are all wrapped with name tags on them reminding you who they are for and don’t forget to put them under the tree.

-I always find that I tidy and clean my house before Christmas so that it is perfect for the big day as it leaves room for the gifts that people will get you.

-Make sure that you have written and sent all your Christmas cards to your favourite people so you are spreading Christmas with everyone, I hate writing them but I love sending them out.

-You may want to check that you have everything that you will need to make the food or all of the crackers or plates or cutlery, just make sure you have it!

-And last but not least check that you have got everything ready, washed and stocked for your planned outfit and makeup for the day so there is not a panic in the morning.

I hope you enjoyed tips on preparing for Christmas, if you know of any other ideas that people could use then please feel free to leave them in the comments below, come back tomorrow for another post. That’s all for now,

Ways to Maximise Your Christmas

Hey, so I don’t know about you but I always feel that Christmas whizzes past really quickly so I thought that I would give you some ways to maximise your Christmas and keep your Christmas spirit up:

-I always find from I wake up at 7am to going to sleep at 11pm I am constantly listening to Christmas music and this really does get me quite hyper and in a really Christmassy mood.

-I also think that watching Christmas films when you’re making Christmas food or in the afternoon when you’re feeling lazy and you are starting to get a bit tired after the Christmas food.

-I also feel like burning Christmas candles is a great way to keep you in a happy mood on Christmas day and also it fills the air with great Christmassy smells before the food even is started to get cooked.

-Don’t forget to pull crackers at the dinner table and tell each other the classic, cheesy and rubbish cracker jokes, I always think this is really fun if a bit stupid.

-Another top tip is to keep warm and cosy in the cold weather, this always makes me feel really happy and the worst thing is to be cold on Christmas.

-Something that I think is probably the most important thing to do on Christmas is spending time with your family and friends and I don’t think that I could have a Christmas without doing that.

-Get involved be a Santa and wear a Santa hat this is perfect for when unwrapping presents cooking Christmas dinner, eating Christmas dinner, setting the table, basically anything.

-And finally probably the best bit of Christmas for many people, eating as much Christmas food as possible because your allowed to be naughty it’s Christmas after all.

I hope you enjoyed ways to maximise you Christmas, if you know of any other ideas that people could use then please feel free to leave them in the comments below, come back tomorrow for another post. That’s all for now,

Christmas Decorations

Hey, I don’t know about you but I am so excited about Christmas that I might pop so I have made sure that my house has become a winter wonderland, so here are my Christmas decorations for you to use:

-I always find that tinsel is great for draping over any fireplaces or any ledges that are looking a bit bare, over door frames or banisters, it is sparkly material that you can put almost anywhere, what’s not to love.

-Something that can brighten your room or office at Christmas time are fairy lights, these come in different shapes, sizes and colours and are usually really affordable.

-An obvious addition to your house at Christmas time is a Christmas tree there is nothing to say about this apart from the fact that they are an absolute essential.

-Christmas garlands are great to lie around your house, I find these perfect for bannisters, to go in these have your base fake or real Christmas tree material strings and then you can add tinsel, fairy lights or bauble strings.

-A symbol of Christmas are the reindeer so be sure to incorporate these through statues or large Christmas lights or even on your wrapping paper.

-I always find that Christmas candles are great for this time of year especially Christmas scents like gingerbread, berries or Christmas trees etc., they also leave a yellow orange Christmassy tinge to the room.

-Another great addition to your house is a wreath on your front door, I always find that every time I see it, it gets me a little extra excited for Christmas.

-I also use snow spray a lot on either my windows or on your Christmas tree because although we probably aren’t going to get a white Christmas (please leave photos if you do have snow) this is a great alternative,

-Something great or Christmas time is greenery like holly or mistletoe, you can tie these anywhere using different colours of ribbon and I find these really great to put all around the house.

I hope you enjoyed Christmas decorations, if you know of any other ideas that people could use then please feel free to leave them in the comments below, come back tomorrow for another post. That’s all for now,

Random Christmas Facts

Hey, so as Christmas is nearly upon us I thought I would share some Random Christmas Facts, please be aware that these facts do mention the fact that Santa isn’t real:

-Evergreen branches became the foundation of our Christmas tree. Germans are thought to be the first to bring “Christmas trees” into their homes at the holidays and decorate them with cookies and lights.

-Santa Claus comes from St. Nicholas, a Christian bishop living in (what is now) Turkey in the fourth century AD. St. Nicholas had inherited a great deal of wealth and was known for giving it away to help the needy. When sainted, he became the protector of children. After his death, the legend of St. Nicholas spread. St. Nick’s name became Sint-Nicolaas in Dutch, or Sinter Klaas for short. Which is only a hop, skip, and jump to Santa Claus.

-Santa Claus delivering presents comes from Holland’s celebration of St. Nicholas’ feast day on December 6. Children would leave shoes out the night before and, in the morning, would find little gifts that St. Nicholas would leave them.

-Stockings come from this story: A poor man with three daughters couldn’t afford the dowry to have them married. One night, St. Nicholas dropped a bag of gold down the man’s chimney so that his oldest daughter would be able to get married, and the bag fell into a stocking that was drying by the fire.

-One of the reasons we leave milk and cookies for Santa is because Dutch kids would leave food and drink for St. Nicholas on his feast day.

-We leave carrots for Santa Claus’ reindeer because, in Norse mythology, people left hay and treats for Odin’s eight-legged horse Sleipnir “in hopes the god would stop by their home during his Yule hunting adventures.” Dutch children adopted this tradition too, and would treats for St. Nick’s horse.

-The look of Santa Claus we have today was created at an 1804 meeting of the New York Historical Society, where member John Pintard handed out wooden cut-outs of jolly old St. Nick in front of stockings filled with toys.

-Though Santa Claus has worn blue and white and green in the past, his traditional red suit came from a 1930s ad by Coca Cola.

-The image Santa Claus flying in a sleigh started in 1819 and was dreamt up by the same author who created the Headless Horseman, Washington Irving.

-Rudolph was actually conceived by a department store, Montgomery Ward, as a marketing gimmick to get kids to buy holiday colouring books.

-Rudolph almost didn’t have a red nose either: At the time, a red nose was a sign of chronic alcoholism and Montgomery Ward thought he would look like a drunkard.

-Rudolph was almost named Rollo or Reginald. Reginald the Red-Nosed Reindeer doesn’t quite have the same ring to it.

-The poem that introduced us to the reindeers apart from Rudolph, “A Visit From St. Nicholas,” actually named dropped Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Duner and Blixem. (Which, like Donner and Blitzen, come from the German words for thunder and lightning.)

-Over the years, other reindeer have been name checked on Santa’s sleigh team, such as: Flossie, Glossie, Racer, Pacer, Scratcher, Feckless, Ready, Steady, and Fireball (no relation to the whiskey).

-The first batch of eggnog in America was crafted at Captain John Smith’s Jameston settlement in 1607, and the name eggnog comes from the word “grog,” which refers to any drink made with rum.

-“Silent Night” is the most recorded Christmas song in history, with over 733 different versions copyrighted since 1978.

-Legend has it that “Silent Night” was written by a Father Joseph Mohr in Austria, who was determined to have music at his Christmas service after his organ broke. In reality, a priest wrote it while stationed at a pilgrim church in Austria.

-“White Christmas” is the best-selling song of all time.

-“Santa Claus Is Coming to Town” actually has a truly depressing back-story: songwriter James "Haven" Gillespie was broke, jobless, and his brother had just died when he was asked to write a Christmas song. He was originally too overcome with grief, but eventually found inspiration in his brother’s death and the Christmas memories they had together.

-The original lyrics to “Hark! The Herald Angel Sings” were “Hark! How the Welkin rings!” Welkin is an old, English term for Heaven. A preacher later tweaked the lyric.

-“Jingle Bells” was originally supposed to be a Thanksgiving song.

-Boston church leaders tried to have the song “I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus” banned in the 1950s because they thought it “promoted physical intimacy.” Singer Jimmy Boyd had to fly to Boston and explain to them why it wasn’t obscene.

-Mariah Carey’s “All I Want for Christmas Is You” is considered to be the most popular Christmas song now. In the music video, Santa is played by Mariah’s then-husband, Tommy Mottola.

-The highest-grossing Christmas movie of all time is How the Grinch Stole Christmas. The Jim Carrey version.

Christmas Scents

Hey, so Christmas scents are always floating around your house at Christmas from either food or candles and most of them are nice, here are my favourite Christmas scents:

-Cloves are a great spice for Christmas foods and they add some really good flavours and it is a great scent.

-There is nothing better than the smell of freshly cooked gingerbread at Christmas.

-Candy canes are perfect for hanging on trees and they smell great and are great for eating when working to stay Christmassy.

-Cinnamon is a great spice and although it is great in autumn as well it is great to spice cakes or cookies up for Christmas as well.

-Christmas orange is a great scent and they are great tasting classic stocking fillers.

-Christmas tree pine is a great smell and it signifies the start of Christmas for many people even if you have a fake tree.

-Christmas spices like nutmeg are perfect for spicing food and making the house smell like food.

-Red berries are sweet and are great for balancing out the savoury and the sweet so that your palette doesn’t get too bored.

-Another great scent is roasted chestnuts which can be used also to flavour your food.

-Frankincense and myrrh are classic Christmas scents which are a little different to most of the other scents.

I hope you enjoyed my Christmas scents, if you know of any other ideas that people could use then please feel free to leave them in the comments below, come back tomorrow for another post. That’s all for now,

Christmas Gift Ideas

Hey, so if you are stuck on what to buy people for Christmas, here is a few ideas of what you could buy your friends:

- A bath bomb set is perfect for someone who enjoys baths and likes to relax and these sets have a range of prices from low to high depending on how many you would like and from what standard you want them to be, a great site for bath bombs is lush.

-Makeup palettes are great for someone who likes make up and wants to expand their collection, I always buy my makeup palettes from Superdrug as they probably will cheaper than boots but for the higher priced palettes I order off feel unique. These can range from low prices to high depending on the brand.

-Toiletries set are a great way to introduce people to a great brand and to try a range of products from the same brand, I usually buy my toiletries sets from Tkmaxx as you can get usually expensive products for lower prices and they have a great range of great products.

-Face masks are a great way to help your friends rejuvenate their skin for the New Year and you can also buy them a skin helping set to give you a chance to have a girl’s night in or relaxation night. I usually buy these at boots or, the more expensive brands at Tkmaxx, these usually range from extremely cheap to moderately expensive.

-Manicure sets are good to give somebody something that they usually won’t buy themselves, these can also contribute to the girl’s night in, they are also are great stocking fillers and they can come with everlasting nail files, these can range from low priced to quite expensive.

-Massage voucher so that they can get some stress relief after the stress of Christmas and New Year and to make them a lot happier, these can range from medium prices to high prices depending on what comes with the massage, how long it lasts and where it is.

-A good perfume could be really good for introducing someone to a good brand and a good scent that you enjoy, I usually buy my good perfumes from boots, Superdrug or the perfume shop and these usually are quite expensive if you buy expensive brands but they are usually really good quality and scents.

-A makeup brush set is a great way to refresh somebody’s makeup selection or to help someone who wants to get into makeup then a makeup brush set can be really helpful, these can range from low price or expensive but I would recommend buying good quality brushes once rather than buying cheap brushes which you have to constantly keep on buying because they are poor quality. I buy my brush sets from Tkmaxx because you can get good brands like Real Techniques for less expensive prices.

-I find that a candle set is a great way to get a friend or family member excited about a certain scent or brand which you think that they will like and they can range from small candles quite cheap to expensive depending on the casing if there is any and what the brand is, I also usually buy these at Tkmaxx.
