January Favourites

Hey, so January is over which means that hopefully it will start to warm up soon but January has been so great and so today I am sharing with you my January Favourites:

Makeup

Maybelline SuperStay Better Skin Concealer – so I think I may have spoken about this before but I have had this in my collection for a really long time but have only just tried it and I actually really love it, the coverage isn’t the most amazing but I will say that it makes your makeup look like your actual skin which is a look I have started to love a little bit more and the although the colour range isn’t great overall it is amazing value.

Kiko Smart Lipstick in 924 – so I think you will have noticed that I love a nude lipstick but this is just one of those lipsticks that stays on all day and what’s really helpful is its not one of the those lipsticks that after a while feels dry on the lips, it has such a creamy texture that covers the lips perfectly but I will say that the only downside that it is one of those lipsticks that leaves marks on glasses but I still think that it is worth it.

Body care and Skincare

Elizabeth Arden 8-Hour Moisturiser – so I know that lots of people actually use this a lot but recently I have started to use it and actually really love it despite the fact that I absolutely hate putting moisturiser on this doesn’t feel too thick on my skin and what I love about this is the amazing herbal scent that isn’t too strong, so overall although this is quite expensive for a moisturiser I really think that it is worth the money.

Simple Rapid Action Zapper – so I think that you will know by now that I have quite a few blemishes but honestly this has done wonders for my breakouts and I feel like it really has been improving my skin which I have been loving and although lots of drugstore skincare brands I have found don’t really work but this is something that actually works and is great value so if you have blemishes I really recommend trying it.

Lancôme La Vie Est Belle Perfume – so one of my friends got my this for Christmas and I have fallen in love with it, it smells really quite floral but I think that it is really going to be a great scent for summer and spring but I absolutely love this scent and I feel like it’s got the perfect balance of strength where it’s not too overpowering but it lasts rather than just wearing off in a couple of hours so I feel like it’s a great perfume.

Music

Ed Sheeran – so I know that this is all that anyone is talking about when it comes to music recently but I have actually loved him for a really long time and I have always wanted to see him play live but I am actually in love with his music that came out on the first week of January, the songs are (if for some reason you don’t know) Castle on the Hill and Shape of you and not only do I love the music but I love the music videos too which always helps me make a song, my favourite is castle on the hill but let me know which one is your favourite.

TV Shows

Riverdale – so one of my best friends told me about this and I was so excited to try to watch it, basically the show is based on the comic books Betty and Veronica and without spoilers it’s all about something mysterious that has happened in the town called Riverdale, there are new episodes every Friday on Netflix and I can already tell this is going to be one of those shows which I will become completely obsessed with.

I hope you enjoyed this and let me know what you have been loving this month. That’s all for now,

Makeup Haul

Hey, so recently I have made quite a few large orders of makeup which I have been really excited about, and now that it’s all arrived I am so happy so today I’m sharing with you my new makeup:

Colourpop

Colour Pop Super Shock Shadow in Central Perk – okay firstly can we all just take a moment to appreciate how amazing this name is, but anyway this is a really creamy pigmented easy to blend deep purple shade (which is matte) and I think this would look so good in the crease for a dramatic eyeshadow look.

Colour Pop Super Shock Shadow in Game Face – so this is a shimmery shade which is even creamier that the matte shade which actually picks up a ton of pigment just by lightly touching it which is incredible, anyway this shade is an orange toned brown which would be perfect to wear in autumn.

Colour Pop Ultra Matte Liquid Lipstick in Monday – so this is from the collection named after the days of the week and this is a brown toned pink nude which has packaging which has sad face emojis on the inside of the packaging which I just absolutely love and I really want the rest of the collection.

Colour Pop Ultra Matte Liquid Lipstick in Midi – so this is a natural but still a little dark pinky nude which would be perfect during the daytime and especially in spring but this lasts on my lips for absolutely hours which I love especially when you have a long day at work or at school.

Colour Pop Ultra Matte Liquid Lipstick in LAX – so this is the darkest colour that I got that I feel would be great in the later months of the year in winter and autumn because this is kind of a purple toned deep red which just feels so nice on the lips and dries so quickly and doesn’t move all day long even you are drinking something.

Colour Pop Ultra Matte Liquid Lipstick in Times Square – so this is a medium pink colour which is for one of those days in the summer where you feel like going for a bit of a brighter colour and I do love this colour but it’s not the sort of thing I would wear everyday but I also think that this would look great for a posh night time dinner.

Colour Pop Ultra Matte Liquid Lipstick in Beeper – so I think this is the second darkest shade that I bought which quite dark pink toned brown but what I would say about this is that this looks quite a bit darker in the bottle than it does on the actual lip but despite it being a dark colour it is so easy to apply and perfect.

Colour Pop Ultra Matte Liquid Lipstick in Trap – so I have seen this colour absolutely everywhere all over Pinterest but this colour is a really opaque colour which is kind of a grey toned brown that looks really cool on the lips but I just love how different this is but I will say this is not a colour you could wear on an everyday basis.

Colour Pop Lippie Stix in Crack me Up (Matte) – so this matches ‘Beeper’ which is one of the other shades I bought in the liquid lipsticks and so this shades is a colour which is quite dark which has pink and orangey undertones with a sheer coverage of the lips which lasts a seriously long time and doesn’t budge when you drink.

Colour Pop Lippie Stix in Pillow Talk (Matte) – so this a gorgeous shade which is kind of a grey nude shade which I just love and it’s so unusual but still so pretty and what I also love is how great this name is (because who doesn’t love that song), what I also love about this product is how perfect the packaging because it’s so simplistic and still shows the colour of the lipstick on the outside.

Colour Pop Lippie Stix in Cookie (Matte) – so this a really pretty natural shade which is a pink toned completely natural which is not only perfect for the daytime but will be perfect for my spring holiday which I love but you could literally where this anywhere especially for a no makeup makeup look which is really helpful, and these are even a little bit moisturising.

Bronzer

Urban Decay Beached Bronzer in Sun-Kissed – so this one I haven’t actually heard many people talk about at all which is surprising but this has a flesh toned subtle but still beautiful shade which bronzes up the face really naturally and I cannot wait to use this in the summer because it looks exactly like a natural tan and what I also love this amazing packaging with palm trees because it reminds me so much of summer.

Benefit Hoola Bronzer – so this is definitely a product which everyone has heard about and most people absolutely love this and the reason I actually got this was I originally bought the liquid bronzer in summer but I loved it so much I really wanted to try the powder version but this bronzer is so pigmented it’s great for a good contour especially because its matte but it is better for summer because it is a warm toned bronzer.

Highlighter

TheBalm Mary-Lou Manizer Highlighter – so I have heard so many amazing things about this highlighter and about how pigmented this is and after swatching it I can see why so many people love this and I can’t wait to use this, I feel like it’s going to be one of my new favourite products ever but I did hear that it doesn’t travel very well so I am a little scared of that.

Urban Decay Afterglow 8-Hour Powder Highlighter in Sin – so again I have heard great things about this and when it arrived I was shocked about how beautiful this highlighter is not only the actual product but the packaging is so perfect for the product and it’s just one of those things that is so pretty that you are a little bit afraid to use it.

I hope you enjoyed this and let me know any new makeup that you have been enjoying. That’s all for now,

Top 5 Drugstore Primers

Hey, so who doesn’t love a good primer to keep their makeup looking great all day long so I thought I would share with you my top 5 primers to get from the drugstore:

The Body Shop Instablur Primer – so although this one is a little less drugstore and is moving towards higher end but I totally think this is worth the tad extra money, so this is a clear kind of gel formula which I love because it means that it won’t be too dark for my skin which is a constant problem for me because I am the actual colour of snow but this leaves such a nice base to put my makeup onto it.

Soap and Glory The Fab Pore Oil Control Serum – so this is actually my full time favourite primer I will use it legitimately every single day because it controls the oil on my skin perfectly and it really helps my makeup last all day long and it helps my makeup go on perfectly so for the great price I think that it feels like a really great quality product and I genuinely think its works which I don’t feel like a lot of primers actually do.

MaxFactor Face Finity Primer – so this one is a product which as soon as you put it on it sinks into your skin and smooths it out to make it feel it nice and I feel like I can actually feel the difference on my skin and it doesn’t make me feel too greasy which some primers can make my skin feel but I really love how my makeup applies onto it but for a drugstore primer I think that this is a really great base.

Revlon Photo ready Primer – so although I have oily skin I actually really love to have more luminous skin in the winter because I find it quite hard to have skin looking glowy and alive, so this primer is actually really good especially for the winter and spring time but what I love about it is that despite it brightening my skin it doesn’t make me look really oily like most illuminating primers and it helps my makeup last a long time.

The Body Shop InstaGlow Primer – so again this is a really great one to have glowy skin without looking too oily I particularly like this either on holiday for no makeup days as a SPF which makes the skin look really alive or as an amazing moisturising but non-greasy base in the winter to look glowy which I think everyone needs a little of in the winter but for a primer its really good and I feel like it would be great on dry skin to.

I hope you enjoyed this, let me know if you want me to do another one of these and let me know what your favourite primers. Let me know of anything you would like me to talk about in another future post. That’s all for now,

Winter Essentials

(Sorry this is so late)
Hey, so obviously you know that this time of year it is absolutely freezing today I am going to share with you essentials for you and your handbag to survive the cold:

-Moisturiser – so obviously its cold and your skin is going to get dry so your hands will sadly get dry so I always need, not even just like to have, NEED to have a good moisturiser in my handbag with me because realistically, in this freezing weather, literally freezing (it snowed two days ago where I live) who’s hands won’t get dry so I always love to have the Elizabeth Arden 8 hour cream with me constantly.

-Warm Coat – so one of the first things I do when buying a new coat is see how warm it makes me because otherwise there is no point in actually buying it especially around winter, I also think that something really about a coat is how soft it is inside because I cannot stand wearing an uncomfortable coat but anyway its winter so to stay warm it’s so important to wear a comfortable thick warm coat and obviously its handy to have a scarf and hat as well.

-Drink lots of fluids – so although it’s good to do this at any time of year, it is so important to drink lots of water at the season extremes (summer and winter) because in the winter you need to liquid to keep your skin from getting dry and in the summer you need to stay hydrated, another positive of drinking lots of water is that it has a really good impact on your skin as it gives it a healthy glow which is needed in winter and it helps clear the skin too.

-Carry essentials with you at all times – so we all know it’s horrible when you’re out and about when a runny nose or a tickly cough hits you so I always try to carry around with me some lozenges, a packet of tissues and some dry throat spray so that I am always prepared because let’s face it at this time of year it is so important to fend of every cold you can and I really suggest carrying these essentials around with you.

I hope you enjoyed this post and let me know how you stay warm in the winter. Let me know of anything you would like me to talk about in another future post. That’s all for now,

How to Stay Possitive

Hey, so you probably don’t know this but this is actually my least favourite time of the year because it’s cold and there’s not really anything to look forward to at all so I always find it hard to stay positive so I thought that I would share with you my tips for staying positive:

-Do more exciting things with your friends – so who doesn’t love to take time off the constant stress of working hard to spend time with their friends but making the extra effort to spend more time with your friends although time consuming has such a positive influence on my general mood, also this is such a good excuse to do less work and play harder, so even if it’s just a few hours for a coffee or at someone’s house, it really is worth it.

-Put yourself in a positive environment – so I’m sure that you have all know that having a cosy home affects you greatly in a positive way but in general when you surround yourself with things that you like and with people that you enjoy to be with then you will be happier compared to how you may feel around things you don’t like so if you do have the ability to spend that extra money to make your surroundings as good for you as possible.

-Get enough sleep and eat well – so I am sure that we all know that enough sleep and a healthy diet is important for healthy lifestyle but it has really benefits for your mood and to be honest although it is hard to get enough sleep I honestly think that that alone makes an enormous difference to your mood and lifestyle and although it may be hard to actually fit this into your everyday life it really is the best way to improve your mood.

-Stress less about what people think – I always find that stressing about the little things like what people think of you affects what my overall mood is like in such a negative way so over the past few months I have really tried to let go about caring about what people think of me and just be myself because it really does lift a huge weight of my shoulders and if you are like me I really recommend trying to do this.

-Take some time for yourself – I think one of the most important things I try to do at least once a week is to take time for myself and have a bath and just give myself time to breathe take some time away from work and relax and this really just improves my mood so much because I think especially at the start of the year there is a lot of stressful things going on and it’s hard to get perspective so I really suggest doing this on a regular bases.

I hope you enjoyed this and let me know what you do to stay positive. Let me know of anything you would like me to talk about in another future post. That’s all for now,

2016 Favourites

Hey, so I am actually a mix of sad and excited because unfortunately Blogmas is over as well as 2016 but I’m so excited because today I’m going to share with you my 2016 favourites and although I have a feeling this is going to be a long post and probably a little bit repetitive from my past favourites but I’m so excited to write this:

Makeup:

Primer – so to be honest although I don’t use a primer a lot, this was probably one of the easiest to choose so my favourite primer of last year was the Soap and Glory The Fab Pore Oil Control Serum and basically this just leaves a great base for my oily skin that actually feels like it does something good for my skin and I think that it is also great that it keeps all of the makeup matte once it is put on the face which I love.

Foundation – now we all know that I love foundation and I just love putting it on in the morning and I have actually been struggling to decide on my favourite foundation but I have decided that it is the Revlon Colour stay Foundation for Combination/Oily Skin, the reason that I love this is because I feel like it really lasts on the skin for hours looking perfect even in summer and I also love how it doesn’t transfer.

Concealer – so this was one of those products which was so hard to choose and although I’m choosing the Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer it was very close with the Collection Lasting Perfection but this is just a little bit of a nice texture and although it has less of coverage it lasts nicely on the skin and is gorgeous for highlighting, overall although it is a little expensive I really think that this is a great concealer.

Powder – so I am guessing that no one will be surprised that my favourite powder of 2016 is the Soap and Glory One Heck of a Blot Powder which I am sure you are bored of me talking about but this powder to me is a god send, it is such a gorgeous pink toned colour which leaves the skin matte for hours and makes a massive difference in making the makeup last on the skin and as you all know I just love it.

Bronzer – so while planning for this I was going through my whole makeup collection and I found this bronzer which I don’t use nearly enough which is the Body Shop Honey Bronzer, I think the reason I love this is because it is a product that you could use at any time of the year, it’s such a gorgeous not at all orange brown with a slight shimmer which works really well for paler skin and it works quite well as well for contouring.

Blusher – now when it comes to blush I am someone of habit so I basically use only two blushers but something that I have used for the whole year rather than just the past few months is the Max Factor Crème Puff Blush in 10 Nude Mauve which is such a gorgeous nude pink that works really well on the skin looking natural and what I love about it is that it doesn’t look like a Barbie doll fake colour and it doesn’t look like your wearing makeup.

Highlighter – now this was definitely an easy decision to make because practically the only highlighter that I use is the Seventeen Shimmer Brick in Gold Bronze but basically to try and not ramble on about this is but basically this just create a really strong highlight on the top of the Cheekbones so if you want something more natural this is not for you but I honestly think that it leaves such

Face Palette – now I actually really struggled with trying to pick my favourite face palette because to be honest I don’t really use face palettes but I found that I have quite a few so I really should start to use them more and although it was very close to being the hourglass ambient lighting palette but I think that it has to be the Collection Blush and Glow Palette because it is such good value because it has two pretty blushers in it and a really good contour shade and a really bright highlighter, I would definitely recommend this.

Eyeshadow Product – so I’m guessing that it will be no surprise to you that my favourite eye product of 2016 was the Maybelline 24Hr Colour Tattoo in On and On Bronze which is just a very popular and very hyped up product but I just think that the colour would look so perfect on any eye colour or skin colour and I just love the formula of this product because it is so comfortable on the eye and goes on so smoothly and I think it is a great investment because they actually last forever.

Eyeshadow Palette – so when it comes to makeup, it my eyeshadow that takes the longest time so this is probably one of the most important things when it comes to my makeup but this year I have found that overall my favourite palette has been the Revolution Ultra Professional Flawless Matte Palette which I know that I talk about a lot but I just love the pigmentation of these colours and I think that it contains all the colours that you would ever need for the crease.

Mascara – so my favourite mascara has changed a lot this year but I narrowed it down to the Soap and Glory Thick and Fast mascara because although I think the Maybelline the falsies mascara was my favourite for the longest period of time but after comparing it to my current favourite, I have found that it can actually be really clumpy sometimes but if you haven’t tried this mascara I recommend this so much especially if you think you usually have flat lashes because this really lifts them up.

Lip Moisturiser – so I am actually proud of myself because I haven’t spoken about this in but I actually really love the Body Shop Lip Roll On in Rose because it leaves my lips really soft for a really long time and I just really love how well my lip product sits on top of this and I actually really love the smell of this but overall this is such a long lasting, moisturising great quality product and I think that I will always repurchase this lip oil.

Lip product – so I was so tempted to put in one of my mac lipsticks but I have found that I don’t use them as much as my other lipsticks despite how much I love them so my favourite this year is the Revlon Ultra HD Matte Lip colour in Seduction which I think is such a natural nude that lasts for so long which I absolutely love to wear at any time of the year and I just love how comfortable it is to wear on the lips all day.

Skincare:

Cleanser – so if you have not realised by now I have oily skin which means that I get lots of blemishes which I hate but I have found that the Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish really helps to not only make the skin clearer and feel a lot cleaner at all times of the day and I have also found that it has made my skin so much softer and this cleanser has also left my skin with a lot less oil which means that my skin looks and feels overall so much better.

Moisturiser – so again with oily skin it is so hard to find a moisturiser that doesn’t make you look like an oil spill but the Simple Spotless Skin Anti-Blemish Moisturiser feels so nice on the skin and doesn’t leave your skin even more oily which I find that some moisturisers do and I actually really love putting this underneath my makeup because it really helps it last all day and I haven’t found a moisturiser which has come anywhere the quality of this moisturiser.

Face Mask – so I love a good face mask in the evening and I really like to try lots of different face masks to try and make my skin a better state but by far the Super Facialist Salicylic Acid Anti Blemish Pore Purifying Clay Mask by Una Brennan which is such a quick and easy face mask that literally takes about 5 minutes and it just makes a huge difference to the quality of your skin and I really recommend not only this product but also the whole brand itself is such a great quality brand that you can get almost everywhere like boots.

Other – so again I love products with tea tree oil because they are just so good for the skin especially if you have blemished skin and a product that is so good that has tea tree oil in it is the Body Shop Tea Tree Oil Targeted Blemish Gel but I think although it is so good and it really works what I would say is that it runs out surprisingly quickly and for the product you get I think that the price should be slightly lower but I still really love the product.

Body:

Shower Gel – so there is a product that I have always loved and is one of my favourite scents of all time and this is the Soap and Glory Clean On Me Shower Gel and this is just a gorgeous scent and although it is quite a sweet scent I think it is just the perfect level of sweet which just leaves the perfect scent and the shower gel leaves the skin feeling quite moisturised and overall it’s just an amazing shower gel which is such good quality and I really recommend it.

Moisturiser - so again I hate the sensation of wearing moisturiser so I am so particularly picky when it comes to moisturiser and I think that if you hate moisturiser like me then the Vaseline Intensive Care Aloe Soothe Spray Moisturiser is a great way to avoid the sticky, greasy feeling of moisturiser, basically you spray it on lightly and rub it and it sinks into the skin instantly and it feels so smooth but no disgusting afterwards.

Other:

Music – so I am a massive fan of Fifth Harmony and when their new album 7/27 came out last year I just fan-girled over every single song and I just love to listen every single piece of music that they have ever released but this is such a great album and I genuinely think that there is a song for everyone on the whole album and I really like the whole feel of the album and I have like four copies of it and I definitely recommend listening to this if you have a chance.

TV Show – so I love watching TV and I spend too much time watching different TV shows but because of my extreme obsession over the past nearly three years, my favourite TV show just has to be Pretty Little Liars (PLL) and I can’t even explain to you how much I love this TV show and when I watched all the videos of them taking down the sets and things like that I cried so much and especially Shay Mitchell’s PLL Goodbye video (which is so beautiful and heartbreak) and I just love everything to do with PLL so much and I completely recommend it to anyone.

App – so I’m sure that the majority of people have this app but Pinterest is just my favourite social media and I will be on it almost all of the day, isn’t that just slightly sad, but anyway I just love finding new things to become obsessed with and I just love scrolling through Pinterest adding things to all my different boards like my PLL board or my makeup board or my Christmas board which is just my favourite thing to scroll through and I totally recommend it.

Random Thing – so this was hard because I love so many random things but this whole year I have been obsessed with Homeware and to be honest the amount of time and energy that I spend just looking at homeware on the internet but I just love to have fun with getting new homeware and trying to match new homeware to not only my homeware but with my Pinterest boards which let’s face it is quite sad.

I hope you enjoyed this and let me know what your 2016 favourites have been and I am sorry that this has been a really long post but I really hope that you have enjoyed it. Let me know of anything you would like me to talk about in another future post. Thats all for now,
